Cédric Grolet at The Berkeley
Step inside Cédric Grolet at The Berkeley – and into the mind of a true visionary. After joining Le Meurice as sous chef in 2012, Cédric Grolet rapidly rose through the ranks and introduced the world to his sweetly styled Fruits and Flowers, through his own boutiques and bestselling books. Today, the renowned pastry chef’s first pâtisserie outside of Paris, overlooking Hyde Park, is a true feast for the senses.
Each artfully crafted creation is as visually beautiful as it is delicious to eat. Settle in or outside the pâtisserie for breakfast, including the croissant that’s the talk of the town. Made-that-morning viennoiserie and rich, roasted coffee to go put a fresh spin on the daily grind. While afternoon pick-me-ups come in the form of cookies with a hint of vanilla caramel and golden-glazed nut praline.
Shifting with the seasons, hallmark trompe-l'œil signatures can be savoured in the pâtisserie or ordered via click and collect – perfect for a cosy catch up with friends. The new collection, to eat in or take away, takes a leaf out of autumn’s book. Sharing cakes blend the rough with the smooth – peanut, hazelnut and macadamia give things some bite alongside rich ganache and velvety vanilla. Then things take a citrus-flavoured turn, with a dark chocolate and orange ‘flower’ and a zesty lemon surprise.
For an up-close-and-personal look at the innovation behind the art, take a front row seat at the Chef's Counter for a tasting menu of six sweet and two savoury courses. Or experience Goûtea, Cédric Grolet's twist on afternoon tea, here and at The Berkeley Café.
Cédric Grolet's fusion of Goûter (French tradition of sweet snacking) and afternoon tea.

Time for Goûtea
A showcase of pâtisserie perfection, Goûtea fuses the French tradition of sweet snacking and the best of British afternoon tea. This season, caramels, pralines, and burnished colours reflect the arrival of autumn. Stay sharp with a larger-than-life ‘Lemon’, revealing a cream cheese ganache and lemon curd centre, while the indulgent Vanilla Flower and Pistachio Cookie offer a fresh twist on classic flavours.
Signatures to savour
This season’s collection is a warm embrace before winter. Salty meets sweet with a Peanut and the Pistachio Cookie pairs silky ganache and caramel with the irresistible crunch of nuts. The chef’s signature Fruits and Flowers trompe-l'œil artistry is joined by the Orange-chocolate Flower while the zingy lemon ‘illusion’ cake harks back to longer days. New for the season and beautifully boxed, our sharing cakes and cookies are made to take-away: almond Financier tarts and Gianduja-laced Lunettes are autumn in a nutshell, and the ‘3 Chocolates’ and caramelised Macadamia cookies join the collection.
CHEF’S COUNTER
For front row seats to the theatre of the pâtisserie, Cédric Grolet presents the Chef’s Counter.
